Meditation demystified with Shakthi

If you are a beginner or even a seasoned meditator, come and learn some simple and effective ways to quieten your mind and expand the silence and stillness.

Shakthi will lead you to a peaceful state through pranayama, pratyahara , dharana and dhyana. If you are not sure what those terms mean come to the workshop. If you know what they mean, come and experience them!

3-Week Beginner’s Workshop

Interested in beginning a yoga practice? All you need to get started is curiosity, willingness, an open mind, and a sense of humor! Explore the fundamentals of yoga in this fun 3-week workshop that is designed for the brand-new beginner or those seeking to revisit the basics. We’ll work on learning basic postures, finding optimal alignment in each, and on understanding the benefits of each. We’ll also cover the basics of yoga philosophy, breath work, and meditation. As we explore this ancient practice that unites body, mind, and spirit, questions are encouraged. Come see what yoga can do for you! Registration fee of $70 includes 3 additional classes to be taken during the three weeks of the workshop.

Restorative yoga is the yoga of non-doing. When each posture is fully supported with blankets and bolsters, true relaxation can take place. In a society of constant doing, the art of relaxation can be lost. Restorative yoga can help lead you to calm, sounder sleep and general peace of mind.

Please arrive dressed comfortable, eat a light meal no sooner than 2 hours before workshop.

Come replenish your spirit, relax your mind, and feel completely nurtured and cared for in this special 2-hour long restorative yoga class. Restorative yoga is the yoga of non-doing, and students will be positioned in simple, comfortable poses while being supported by props--blankets, bolsters, yoga straps, blocks, and/or the wall. When fully supported, the body assumes a state of active relaxation, lengthening muscles and relieving tension effortlessly. Restorative yoga is a restful, replenishing experience and promotes harmony of mind, body, and spirit. Conscious awareness of the breath, guided relaxation meditation, soothing music, aromatherapy, and gentle massage are included to promote total relaxation. Suitable for all levels of practitioner, and no previous yoga experience is necessary.
